Specially designed for hub-to-hub and computer-to-computer connections, crossover network cables are similar to a null-modem cables. The difference is that the crossover cable is used for Ethernet connections, where the CTS (clear to send) and RTS (ready to send) lines are crossed over, whereas on a null-modem cable the Tx (transmit) and Rx (recieve) lines are crossed over.
